To the Leaders of Danish Companies Facing Mass Layoffs

For years, Denmark has actively sought to attract and retain global talent, recognising their invaluable contribution to our economy and society.

Now, many of these international employees — and their families — face uncertainty due to mass layoffs . For them, losing a job doesn’t just mean career disruption; it can mean losing their right to stay in Denmark, uprooting children from schools, and leaving behind the communities they’ve built.

Chances are, you know someone in this situation — a colleague, a neighbour, a parent you see at school. These are not just employees; they are part of our communities .

This is why we are calling for solidarity and compassion.

International Citizen Days 2025

International Citizen Days

Another International Citizen Days has come to an end, and we couldn’t be happier with the experience.

We had a wonderful time at the International Citizen Days, meeting so many curious and inspiring people from around the world.

Our InDe Connect session sparked engaging conversations about community, inclusion, and the value of shared experiences.

Thank you to everyone who stopped by our stand!
Your enthusiasm and ideas made the event truly special!

August 5- Understanding the Danish model workshop

We had the pleasure of co-organizing an event with Community House Copenhagen about the labor market and unions in Denmark.

👩‍💻👨‍🏭 We all know how work is one of the most crucial and sensitive topics for internationals living here. Often, as internationals, we don’t pay enough attention to the importance of being a member of a union, not only for our own protection, but also for supporting the strength of the Danish negotiation system. At the same time, many of us have encountered unions that are unprepared to engage with non-Danish members.

We will try to organize more initiatives with unions in the future, in an effort to begin opening a channel between them and the international community.

A big thank you to Community House for their thorough explanations, their work with international people, and the amazing food, and to everyone who joined us!

June 24 - InDe Connect

June 24 - Inde Connect!

Still feeling the energy from last night’s Inde Connect!

What began as an event quickly became something more meaningful — a space where internationals and returning Danes shared stories, laughed, and discovered they often face the same questions about life in Denmark.

A huge thank you to Michael Bach Petersen from Danes Worldwide for joining us and leading such an honest, eye-opening conversation.

It was refreshing to hear how moving back to Denmark can be just as complex as moving here for the first time.

The best part? People didn’t rush out after the talk. They stayed and kept the conversations going. That’s how you know it mattered.

If you were there — what’s one thing you’re taking away from the evening?

And if you missed it, we’d love to see you at the next one!

International Citizens Days

International Citizens Days

102 times THANK YOU! ❤️

The International Citizens Days were amazing. And after that, we broke through the 100-member mark: we are now 102 members. It's a great result that will soon lead to even bigger ones.

Every person we talked to confirmed to us the need to remove the barriers Internationals are facing in Denmark. We can do it together, Danes and Internationals, to ensure no one is left behind.

Immigration and emigration

Denmark’s workforce needs international talent—but why are so many leaving?

Despite Denmark’s reputation for quality of life and 'hygge,' international workers are increasingly leaving. Last year alone, over 50,000 foreign citizens left Denmark, and while immigration numbers were higher at 79,561, the country's labour market still faces a major challenge.

Only 35% of internationals remain in Denmark after five years. For a country actively recruiting skilled talent, this is a concerning trend. By 2033, Denmark will need an additional 130,000 workers to meet its economic demands. Yet, without creating a more inclusive and adaptable environment for its international workforce, Denmark risks losing out to other nations that are more successful in retaining global talent.

Denmark has so much to offer—let's make sure internationals feel a part of it.

Denmark's Growing International Community

Giving a Voice to Denmark's Growing International Community

📈 Non-Danish people are a growing part of the population residing in Denmark. Inde's mission is to give them a voice. We believe that only in this way will they be able to thrive, fully contributing to the life of the beautiful country they love to live in.

📍 On September 27 and 28, Inde will be at the International Citizen Days in København, where we will also host a workshop. We would love to meet you there!

In the meantime, if you'd like, please help support our mission by sharing this post or inviting your connections to follow us!
